ABOUT

I am an abstract painter based in Abu Dhabi, exploring landscape through colour, memory and reduction.

I paint the raw presence of landscape. Through abstraction and reduction, I explore what remains when a place is reduced to its essential elements, such as colour, rhythm, texture and atmosphere. I am interested in how a place stays with us, how it is remembered, sensed and transformed over time.

Restraint is central to my process. I reduce rather than add, leaving areas of raw canvas exposed and allowing colour and gesture to stand on their own. Knowing when to stop and what to leave untouched is as important as the marks I make. This process asks me to slow down, observe and listen.
Having lived in and travelled through different countries, this practice has shaped how I encounter the world, with openness, curiosity and an interest in the land, people, culture and heritage of a place.

Nature is my anchor. Working largely from memory, I believe colour has the power to communicate on its own, carrying memory, atmosphere and sensation. I invite the viewer to slow down, linger and become absorbed in the canvas, experiencing something beyond what we simply see.
