This series is an homage to the life of two people that love.
Love is diverse, but Mirjam‘s main intention is to transport the feeling of belonging as one part of it. Belonging is a feeling of being home. It implies a ‘we-feeling’. Mirjam’s idea is to transport this feeling onto the canvas using a soft colour palette. The earthy tones reflect mother Earth.
Nature plays a profound part in Mirjam’s work and life – it grounds her, brings her back into the moment and lets her focus on the important things in life. Life is full of distractions and often we see us disconnecting from ourselves and the people we love.
These paintings shall remind us to listen for that need of belonging and what it takes to stay connected.
